| Opened in 1967, Wilde Lake Village Center is Columbia's first village center and the prototype for the first generation of the city's early village centers. Three buildings face onto The Village Green which has an ambiance reminiscent of the neighborhood shops in Great Britain. Another one-level building was added across the street in 1974 and houses a organic food store and produce store, among others, which draw shoppers from all over Columbia.
